Green is one of the seven colours of the yeddi rəng, the palette a master must command. Here it is left almost to speak alone: the undyed white selvedge the dye never reached, and a single white butterfly set into one corner — the sober, plain register the tradition reserves for a woman of years. Its name comes from that green and from the border, haşiyə, that is its whole ornament.
