Smoke-grey belongs to the quiet register — the dark, calm colour the tradition gives a woman of years, and the plain hand that goes with it. At the centre a wreath of flower heads closes into the shape of a buta, and four stamped bands stand off it, one to each side. Its name comes from that smoky tone (duman) and the wreath, çələng.
